You're Going to Have to See it to Believe it

One tent.... Free because Uncle Ernie and Aunt Diane love me
Two sleeping bags....Free because Anita and Joe thought it would be funny to punish Derik
Four Giovannoni's spending a weekend together in the wilderness....
Priceless
(if you ask me)

Starpoint Campgrounds

Every year our LDS ward has an annual weekend camp out at Starpoint, which is a little piece of forest that the church owns just outside of Scofield Utah.
I of course was bubbling over with excitement to take my kids camping and I was looking forward to spending time with my neighbors and friends. Derik and I are quite fond of our ward and have come to feel very lucky to be associated with such great people.
Those great people some how managed to convince Derik to come along, Can you believe it! He turned down two tickets to the premier of the new Batman movie and took time off of work to come along. If I didn't know better I'd tell you my husband temporarily lost his mind.
I sure was glad he was there and I hope that he'll temporarily lose his mind at least once a year from now on.
A few families from the ward (including our own) went up a day early so that we could have a little unscheduled time to do whatever we wanted.
I love camping for so many reasons but I especially love to watch and learn new games that people play to entertain themselves. Here's a few games we did to keep ourselves amused.

Our bishop and his family introduced my to the game of Bocce.

Derik got talked into
playing a round of horse shoes

Derik also participated in some stair races

These little chipmunks were everywhere
I guess we could have played I spy the Chipmunk

Friday afternoon we took our kids to Scofield Reservoir and let them fish and swim and crawdad.

Alivia sitting around the camp fire

These girls were Alivia's camping moms, they were so wonderful with her.
They taught her to do this dance that is so funny. I attempted to film this little dance, but Alivia decided she didn't want to cooperate. You'll catch like a millisecond of Alivia dancing before she puts her head down and refuses to cooperate. Little Turkey!

Derik and I left early Saturday morning so that we could be back in time to go to his annual summer work party.
Apparently Scofield was hosting a triathlon and the streets which were already under construction were packed with runners and bikers. I was amazed as I watched these people run and bike and couldn't help but be in awe of the strength these people possessed. It was like 90 plus degrees and I was sweating just from watching them. I turned around to talk to dylan about something and found him holding Alivia's hand it was so cute I just had to take a picture.

We all had such a good time, I cannot wait to do it again.
