Six years ago this sweet little boy entered into our lives...
In which Derik and I became a Mother and a Father....
In which Derik and I became a Mother and a Father....
Four...
Five...
Six....Years of laughing, crying, loving and growing. We love you for being such a sweet soul, we love you for your happiness, for your innocence, for your love of life, for your endless energy and your tender heart! We love you for being such a great son and a wonderful older brother. Happy Sixth Birthday Dylan!!!!
Dylan started out his sixth birthday with a gourmet breakfast that consisted of cinnamon french toast, with all the toppings, and ham, and eggs. After which he made his way downstairs and had some quality time with the X-Box. Uncle Eric than treated him to an afternoon at the Living Planet Aquarium, where they got to enjoy a rainforest rendezvous .
He asked for a BBQ for his birthday dinner, so we grilled up some burgers and hot dogs. After dinner we let Dylan run around the neighborhood and collect his friends for birthday cake and ice cream.
Dylan saw his Aunt Heidi's Blog where she had made a fabulous little race car cake (which Dylan begged me to make him), so we shamelessly copied it. First time in six years I didn't make his cake a total wreck!
Every one made this such a special birthday for Dylan. We have such great friends and family!
Thank you Uncle Eric for taking Dylan out. Thank you Aunt Heidi for the cake idea and the phone call. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Ward for the movie gift card and the books. Thank you Grandma Diane and Grandpa Ernie for the money and the Lego's. Thank you Aaron and Cynthia for coming by and celebrating with us, and being so generous with Dylan.
Mr. Giovannoni and I also got Dylan a flying helicopter, a growing dinosaur, alligator and shark, a new Leapster game and a cordless kid sized X-Box control. Ms. Livie also picked out some oozey fruit shark snacks just for Dylan...I'm telling you the kid made a killing this birthday!

Happy Birthday Dylan! He hasn't changed one bit from when he was a baby!
I totally love the cake. It is fun making birthdays special for your kids because it sure doesn't take much :)
